Today Is A Special Day...

Okay, I know that this is getting out a day late. I would say that I’m sorry, but I’m not. We got a little delayed with getting parts yesterday because the fittings that are used on our boat are interesting. One end of the fitting is in metric and the other is imperial… dumb, I know.

Well, yesterday was pretty special, too. We have sub tops put in as of yesterday, our new sink and faucet, cook top, dishwasher, and refrigerator/freezer are in today, and visual progress is being made! All very exciting. A lot of work has already been done, its just inside the walls… I don’t know how many of you have lived in a construction zone, whether that be a kitchen remodel or otherwise, but it can be very draining. Especially when your entire house is torn up and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. But today, I can see a flicker at the end of the tunnel. Sort of like a candle light, not very bright but its there. (We should have counter tops in soon… stay tuned.) We have been holding on to this beautiful sink set up for about three weeks now, let me tell you it is going to be liberating to get rid of the boxes. They take up so much space. On top of that, the humidity here in Florida just destroys them. You better make sure that you have a firm grip on those boxes because dragging them by the flaps, is going to tear them right off. You can imagine how frustrating that might be.

Anyway, it’ll be nice to have the water turned back on. It’s been off for almost two days getting through this whole sink project. We haven’t been able to flush toilets or brush our teeth on the boat. We’ve had to go to the “clubhouse” here at the boat yard to do those things (we call the building with the office and bathroom for the yard the “clubhouse”. It makes us feel better). You’d be surprised at how much chaos you can actually take. I’m quite impressed with my family and myself. I think that I am mostly impressed with Stella’s ability to keep herself together. She shows zero sign of distress or anything of the sort. That is extremely impressive considering she really could have no idea what is going on. Her world has been uprooted more than once in the past for months. She rather loves being on the boat. She isn’t scared of anything here and climbs on every surface that we’ll let her. She actually walked on the table the other night, which she has NEVER done before. She has never been allowed to do that, ever, and she walked around like she was a damn cat. She doesn’t even like cats! You can imagine how much trouble she was in, crazy dog!

Well, I don't want to make these posts too long so I think I’ll leave it here. Hopefully you got a little giggle out of Stella’s bad behavior and that you think the sink and faucet are as beautiful as we do!

Check back in on Sunday for another update on the galley project!

Thanks,

Syd
